At age 74, Marvin says he “is on his last rodeo, serving as Christianity Today’s executive editor”. Since moving to Austin in 1983 he’s had two jobs of 25+ years, with some overlap: professor at The University of Texas at Austin, editor in chief of World magazine. He’s written 30 books, including The Tragedy of American Compassion, Reforming Journalism, and Pivot Points. He’s an elder of Grace and Peace church.
