Global Training Center – Volunteer Opportunities & Needs

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES | EQUIPMENT & HOUSING SUPPLY NEEDS

United in Crisis (UIC) is asking for volunteer help and is in need of equipment/housing supplies to help launch UIC’s Global Training Center for our first potential group of leaders in the fall.

Recently, the Lord blessed UIC with 328 acres and multiple homes, warehouses and a dining hall in Odessa, Missouri.  The property is becoming UIC’s Global Training Center, which will be used to equip Christian leaders from around the world in the crisis response church network model UIC-KC is being trained in. UIC needs the following volunteer help:

1. 1. Dry wall Installation
   2. Tape and float
   3. Floor leveling prior to installation
   4. Floor and carpet installation
   5. Indoor painting
   6. Wood trim staining
   7. Ceiling light/electrical socket/light switch/fan installation
   8. Electrical Inspection and electrical work
   9. HVAC work
   10. General carpenter work
   11. General volunteer assignments (sweep/mop facilities, trash, dusting, clean-up, organizing spaces, land clean-up)
   12. Warehouse clean-up
   13. Tree removal with chainsaw and/or tree trimmer
   14. Smoke alarm installation
   15. Inventory warehouse items

UIC is asking you to prayerfully consider volunteering for one or more of the following areas above by completing the volunteer registration form (click here).  Friends and family are also welcomed to come. Minors are welcomed as long as they have adult supervision and they are able to stay focused on the projects.  Thank you for your help and sharing the need with friends!

EQUIPMENT/HOUSING SUPPLY NEEDS: 

UIC needs the following equipment to prepare for this falls first potential training:

1. 1. 24 Twin Mattresses and Twin Bed Frames – $4,500
   2. 6 Futon Beds – $1,000
   3. 60 Sets of Twin Sheet Sets – $1,300
   4. King Sheet Set (2), Queen Sheet Set (3), Blankets (8) – $400
   5. Other Bedroom Items: Side Tables (6), Wall Hook Boards (10), Towell Sets (12), Curtains (8), and Box Fans (9) – $850
   6. Pots and Pans – $500
   7. Upright Refrigerator and Freezer for Shalom Retreat House – $1,200
   8. Service Wear (16 plates, bowls, drinking cups, etc…) – $350
   9. Toiletries – $500
   10. Commercial Freezer for Dining Hall – $2,250
   11. Commercial Refrigeration for Dining Hall – $2,099
